Pakistan’s first female led Coworking Space ‘Workshack’ recently launched in Islamabad to accelerate women empowerment across the region. This coworking opportunity is created by the Managing Director Parvin Khudadad, a single mother and an educationist for more than 30 years, and the CEO Tooba Saad Khan, an active Board Member of Industrus Private Limited and Ex-HR Team Member at US Embassy Employees Association.

Homebridge by Beaconhouse partners with Cambridge International for Pakistan’s First Hybrid A Level School

               

 

Beaconhouse, Pakistan’s largest network of private educational institutions, under its hybrid A Level school, Homebridge, has signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Cambridge International to offer AS and A Level qualifications through the Homebridge online school programme for students.

Homebridge by Beaconhouse is Pakistan’s first hybrid Cambridge International A Level school, offering students an opportunity to study their Cambridge programme with online lectures, teachers and all the facilities required for an uninterrupted learning journey. Through the hybrid model, students have access to Beaconhouse campuses for extracurricular activities, libraries, and labs.

CEO CBD PUNJAB & RUDA BRIEFS US AMBASSADOR ABOUT PROJECTS

         

A delegation of the U.S Consulate General led by the U.S Ambassador in Pakistan, Mr. Donald Blome, met with Mr. Imran Amin, Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA) and Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), to discuss the bilateral business ties between governments and business communities of both countries. 

 The delegation was briefed about ongoing projects and the futuristic approach of Pakistan’s first business district, Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab) and World’s Largest Riverfront Project RUDA. The delegation was also given a detailed presentation about the investment potential opportunities, environmental and economic significance of RUDA and CBD Punjab in the development of the province.

 Mr. Imran Amin, CEO of PCBDDA & RUDA while expressing his views said “the interest of foreign governments and the international business community is a corroboration that CBD Punjab has made a positive impact on the global economic map. CBD Punjab is a novelty in the development of an economically stable and welfare state of Pakistan’’. 

 United States Ambassador and CEO RUDA also discussed projects related to Waste Water Treatment Plants. These plants will have modern infrastructure, ensuring water's effective management and cleanliness which will be first of its kind in Pakistan. RUDA projects related to Information and Communications Technology (ICT), paperless fully digitized environment was discussed in order to build Pakistan’s largest Smart City.

Free Fire Community Donates 25,000 KG Rice to Flood Victims in Pakistan

        

The gaming community of Free Fire, one of the most popular mobile games in Pakistan, has pledged to donate 25000 Kg of rice as humanitarian assistance to support the people affected by the unprecedented floods in Pakistan. According to preliminary estimates, 65% of Pakistan's main food crops including 70% of its rice have been swept away during the floods. The rice is expected to provide immediate relief to around 200,000 people in the most affected communities.  

                                                             

A call for support was issued to the whole community through an online event, held inside the game, where each Free Fire player could donate the virtual tokens that they earned by simply playing the [1] [2] game. Each token collected was equivalent to 100g of rice. This event produced an overwhelming response and ended up creating a social media movement where users circulated the hashtag #KheloApnoKayLiay and over 250,000 tokens were generated within just 3 days, which was equivalent to 25,000 Kg of rice.

 

This 25,000 kg of rice was then donated to the trusted JDC Foundation to be distributed to the flood victims in the most adversely affected areas. A well-known content creator from Free Fire’s Community, Rauf Khalid, otherwise known as Rufe Bhai, was present on-site to handover the rice to JDC Foundation: “I am extremely honoured and proud of how the gaming community has come together to help our nation in such times. It was amazing to see community members from all over Pakistan join hands and be able to create this impact. A huge shout out to Free Fire for helping make all of this possible"
